IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daphne Marie
Watson
November 21, 1953 – February 13, 2026
Daphne Marie Watson, age 72, of Bolton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. Born on November 21, 1953, Daphne was a gentle soul whose quiet spirit and tender heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
A lifelong resident of Bolton, Daphne was dedicated to family above all else. She was known for her unwavering care, always prioritizing the well-being and happiness of her loved ones. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, she found her greatest joy in nurturing and supporting those she loved through life’s many events and milestones.
Daphne graduated from Sumner Hill High School in Clinton, Mississippi, Class of 1971. As a student, she was an excellent scholar, consistently maintaining Honor Roll and Principal’s List status. She continued her education at Hinds Community College in Utica, Mississippi, majoring in Business Management and Finance.
She began her professional career at Deposit Guaranty National Bank in Jackson, Mississippi, where she provided financial expertise and exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. She later devoted over 18 years of service as an employee of the City of Jackson in the Accounting Division of the Jackson Municipal Court, where she worked with diligence and integrity until her retirement.
A faithful Christian, Daphne was a devoted member of Hill of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bolton, Mississippi, where her faith brought her peace and strength. She served as a team captain of the Finance Committee, and other capacities as needed within the church.
Creatively gifted and artistically inclined, she had a deep love for art, crafts, and design. Daphne was especially known for crocheting beautiful blankets and carefully crafted layette sets for newborn babies. She also made delicate outfits for dolls, pouring patience and love into every stitch. These handmade gifts were more than yarn and thread — they were expressions of her heart. Years later, families would often share how much those thoughtful creations meant to them, remembering the warmth and love stitched into every piece.
Daphne was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley (J.W.) Watson, Sr., and Lula Mae Howard Watson; and her siblings, John Wesley Watson, Jr.; James Watson; Dennis Watson (Viola Watson); Bertha Mae Watson Henderson (L.C. Henderson, Sr.); Juanita Watson; and Willie Earl Watson.
Daphne leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Kinya (Bruce) Bullock and Gregory Watson; her beloved grandchildren, Brayden Bullock and Kailyn Bullock; and grandchildren by love, Branden Allen and Lania Allen; her siblings, Johnny Watson, Lawrence Watson, and Barbara Watson Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Her legacy of love, quiet strength, and faithful devotion to family and community will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
