On Wednesday, June 28, 2017 the angel of death made an earthly sweep and captured the soul of Mrs. Dessie Ree Byrd Mack at approximately 4:15 A.M. at the home of her son-in-law, Cleve and daughter, Belvon Walker in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Ever Ree Byrd, Doris Peterson Cheatham, Tommie Lee Simmons, and Louis Lewis; five brothers, Clarence Byrd, E. W. Byrd, Walter Peterson, Sam Peterson and John Peterson; and one niece, Maggie Cheatham, that she raised as her own. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at COSMOPOLITAN COMMUNITY CHURCH, 5249 South Wabash, Chicago
