Lillie Graves Ephfrom

Ms. Lillie Graves Ephfrom passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at home in Clinton, Mississippi. She was born on December 29, 1945, in Bolton, Mississippi, the sixth of eight children of the late Cleveland "Buddy" Graves and the late Sarah Howard Graves.

In August 1955, Lillie professed her faith in Christ under the leadership of Rev. H. C. Gross and joined Hill of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Her lifelong dedication to her church was evident through her many roles: founding leader of Girl Scouts Troop #68, first president of the Hill of Zion Missionary Society, Finance Committee Group Captain, Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Senior Choir, Mothers' Ministry, and the Hinds, Madison and Adjoining Counties Christian Institute.

Lillie began her education at Hill of Zion Public School and graduated from Sumner Hill High School in 1963. She continued her studies at Utica Junior College, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Cosmetology.

Her professional journey reflected her diligence and adaptability. She worked at Bolton Hair Salon and offered services in private homes and at Crescent Laundry. Later, she held positions with Kmart and Allstate (Sunbelt Support Center) until their closures.

Lillie was married to Gales Ephfrom Jr., and together they had one daughter, Latricha Ephfrom.

She found joy in organizing and attending family and class reunions, solving puzzle books, and traveling-activities that brought her closer to those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Lola Mae Graves, Lula Mae Graves, Henry C. Graves, and Chester Graves; niece Carleatha Powell; and nephew Cofrazier Earl Powell.

She is remembered with love by her daughter Latricha Ephfrom; sisters Louise Robinson, Ceolia Graves, and Wyonie Singleton; brother Victor D. (Denise) Graves; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will cherish her memory always.

May her life be remembered with gratitude and her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
